Meet Ecto-3A
In 1984, when a supernatural phenomenon in New York called for the aid of a group of four paranormal investigators, the Ghostbusters were born. Their original mode of transportation was a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Futura Duplex Limo-style End Loader
Combination (Ambulance/Hearse) affectionately called Ecto-1.
When the Ghostbusters were called upon again in 1989 to fight another supernatural creature bent on taking over the world, Ecto-1 got a facelift and became Ecto-1A. Now, 21 years later, a new group of Ghostbusters rises to the occasion.
The Carolinas is one of the most haunted regions in the world, and it is only fitting that a team of Ghostbusters set up shop to keep a watchful eye on ghosts and other paranormal activities in the area.
Outfitted in a newer vehicle, the Carolina Ghostbusters travel in a 1968 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Duplex Ambulance/Hearse, affectionately named Ecto-3A. Save for the differences in styling design in year model, Ecto-3A is nearly identical to her predecessor, Ecto-1.
Miller-Meteor named their limousine-style coaches the "Classic" series. Ecto-3A was originally stationed outside of Dayton, Ohio. Since then, she's lived in Pittsburgh, PA, and Lovettsville, VA, before coming to the Carolinas. Number 1097 among Miller-Meteor's 1968 production run, powered by a 375 horsepower, 472 cubic-inch V-8 engine on a 156" wheelbase, Ecto-3A's overall length comes in at 20'10". Her curb weight without any equipment, 6010 pounds.
Equipped with an array of Ghostbusting necessities including radar, sensor mics, infrared, a satellite microwave uplink, warning lights, and an unmistakable siren, Ecto-3A, in addition to being a complete mobile equipment and command unit for the Carolina Ghostbusters, is quite an eye-catcher and a showstopper wherever she goes.
