Cheralyn Lambeth – Watch Sergeant

Strictly speaking, Cheralyn Lambeth has been Ghostbusting longer than anyone else on the crew, but she joined the Carolina Ghostbusters officially in June of 2010.  A published author, actress, costume designer, prop-builder, and coffee/chocolate/wine/cheese extraordinaire, Cher brings a lot to the Carolina Ghostbusters’ roster.

Cher’s credentials include attending UNC Chapel Hill, Julliard, and the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.  She served on the staff at UNC Chapel Hill as the Head Props Master of their theater department.

As her day job, Cher works in the film and theater industry as a prop builder and costume technician.  She has worked on movies including Leatherheads, The New World, The Patriot, Evan Almighty, The Muppet Christmas Carol, The Hunger Games, and on television shows such as Jim Henson’s Dinosaurs! and Showtime’s original series Homeland.  She worked on the Star Trek Experience for Paramount and also worked with the Grey Seal Puppets and has constructed mascots for teams such as the Charlotte Bobcats, Charlotte Knights, New Orleans Hornets, Carolina Panthers, and the Scotiabank Kiddy Cricket mascot in Barbados.

In the world of the paranormal, Cher is a published author.  Her first book, Haunted Theaters of the Carolinas has achieved great success and she is currently working on her second book, Ghosts of Greater Charlotte.  She’s put in countless hours investigating the paranormal with several different groups across the Southeast.

In Convention circles, Cher is one of the most involved and well-respected women in all of costuming.  She’s a charter member of the Star Wars 501st Legion, the founder of the O.W.L. (Other Worldly Literature) Society, and a senior member of the Carolina Ghostbusters.  She also belongs to the Rebel Legion and Klingon Assault Group and is a regular panel guest at Dragon*Con.

Cher served as Watch Commander from 2010-2014 and is now a Watch Sergeant of the Carolina Ghostbusters.  She boasts the best attendance record short of the Captain and is one of only two members on the team who has earned the Distinguished Service Order Award.  Her favorite events include meeting Dan Aykroyd and visiting the Battleship North Carolina.
