Mikki Stith – Acting Ensign,
Deck Department

Mikki headshotMikki first formally met the Carolina Ghostbusters when she booked them for Jaxcon 2011, a convention she ran in Jacksonville, NC.  Jaxcon was a one time event, but Mikki is quick to say, “Getting the Carolina Ghostbusters was the best decision I ever made for that con.”  Since Jaxcon in 2011, Mikki and the Carolina Ghostbusters crossed paths often as they both traveled the convention circuits.

Mikki attended Coastal Carolina Community College and received her Associate’s Degree in December of 2013.  She is continuing her schooling to pursue a major in Marketing.

Mikki in EctoYou have probably seen Mikki quite a bit and didn’t realize it.  If you haven’t seen her with the Carolina Ghostbusters, you probably have already seen her at conventions.  She is a model and often has a table set up with photos from some of her many amazing sci-fi and anime photo shoots.  She is also a member of the sketch comedy theatre troupe Pineapple-Shaped Lamps, who perform nerdy skits and live shadowcasts of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Dr. Horrible, Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Once More With Feeling, and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie.  She was the Pineapple-Shaped Lamps booking agent in 2012.

Often at conventions, Mikki is doing more than just enjoying the convention.  She is often working as a volunteer or with other service groups like the Carolina D20 Girls, of which she is a member.  The Carolina D20 Girls is the Carolinas’ local chapter of the D20 Girls, a national non-profit organization that strives to promote the geek girl community in a positive light.

Mikki accidentally helped the Ghostbusters book their first anime convention at Ichibancon in 2013.  Due to her interest in marketing and promotions, Mikki was officially brought on to the Carolina Ghostbusters team as an intern in May of 2013.  After completion of her internship, she was promoted and now serves as Acting Ensign of the Deck Department.  Mikki’s favorite events include Ichibancon 2013, PalmCon, the Rock Hill Christmas Parade, and meeting Ernie Hudson.
