People We Like: Margot Kidder

We were watching the wrestling group as they finished assembling their wrestling ring when none other than Lois Lane herself, Margot Kidder, walks up to us and says, “What are they building?….”

Well we explain it’s a wrestling ring and what the wrestling group does.  Margot shakes her head and say, “We don’t have anything at all like this in Montana.”

We chatted a little more about Ghostbusters and told her what our group does, and then Margot told us about hanging out with Dan Aykroyd.  She said Dan would call her up and was always wanting to go on these ghost hunts and to check out all these paranormal places.  And this was back in the early ’80s while he was still working on the idea for Ghostbusters.  Then Margot told us something that made us all bust out laughing.  She said, “I bet Danny 200 bucks that film would never be made.  And now look at us standing here 30 years later.”  We were laughing so hard we didn’t even ask if she made good on the 200 bucks.

We became pretty good friends with Margot over the weekend.  While we were waiting to go on stage for the costume contest, she came over and said, “I’m going to be yelling for you guys to win.”  Unfortunately, we came in second, but not for lack of Margot’s applause and excitement in the crowd.

Thanks for all the stories you shared with us, Margot, and especially for your generous donation to our charity cause.  We can’t wait to come visit and hang out in Montana with you!
